2017 Gender Spectrum Conference

The internet has brought opportunities to communicate and is filled with both useful information and harmful misinformation. For youth who feel isolated from others like them, it has brought  the ability to find virtual  communities. Online spaces have enabled conversations that might have not otherwise been had, and has provided a sense of belonging that might have seemed possible without it. In this workshop we'll explore the nature of different online groups - from chat rooms to gaming communities. We'll look at how to best utilize this tool while helping your chid navigate potential pitfalls and dangers that can come with being online.
